L4M 2011 SHOWCASE

L4M and Bottom Lounge Hip Hop Showcase at Venue 222 (Ace's) on March 18

As promised, L4m will be doubling it up this year.  We will bringing back our now famous hip hop showcase and adding a kick ass rock showcase.  Here are the details (some surprises will be revealed closer to the show):

Hip Hop Showcase at Venue 222 (formerly Aces Lounge), 222 E. 6th Street, Austin, on Friday, March 18 from 12-5(ish) featuring RockieFresh, Boldy James, Doomtree (the whole crew), Ninjasonik, Das Racist and The Cool Kids (with special guests) and EPMD (yep, that’s right)

.  Come early as we have had a line the last two years in a row and with this lineup, the line should be longer! Rock Showcase at Longbranch Inn, 1133 E. 11th Street, Austin, on Saturday, March 19 from 12-6 featuring Big Science, California Wives, Blah Blah Blah, Empires, Elephant Stone, The Idle Hands and Scott Lucas (Local H) and the Married Men.  Longbranch is a bit more intimate, so same rules apply, come early!

Per usual we are showcasing a wide variety of talent from all over the map.  When brought together, it is definitely a party.  Stay Tuned for more info.

THE SHOW IS SET!!! WILL YOU BE THERE???

I’m happy to report that we will be hosting our second annual showcase for independent musicians during the convention in Austin, Texas.  The showcase will be on March 20 at Aces Lounge right in the heart of all the action.  The lineup is shaping up to be awesome (once again).  Bad Rabbits, French Horn Rebellion, Hey Champ, Kidz in the Hall, Cool Calm Pete, and Rakka from Dilated Peoples are on board.  We also have some surprise guests who may be making appearances.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a bid to open the L4M showcase.  We have our winner and they, they are awesome.  Check out www.youyoureawesome.com to check out our winner:  You, You’re Awesome.  They are going to start the party out right.

L4M MUSIC SHOWCASE 2009

AUSTIN, TX-March 24, 2009 –With endless worthy events to choose from at this year’s
SXSW Music Festival, the Lawyer4Musicians (L4M) Showcase was at the top of every
music reveler’s choice picks on March 21st. With Fatlip (of The Pharcyde) starting out
the lineup with a solid intro and sets sprinkled throughout, the tone was set for more to
come. Hip hop aficionados, electro rock fans, and the like began lining up around
Momo’s Club to see a packed bill that also included The Cool Kids, Kidz in the Hall,
Hey Champ, Whatzisface, French Horn Rebellion, DJ Clinton Sparks, and surprise
guests Pac Div with host MC Dumbfoundead.

As a non-official SXSW event, 500+ fans were able to enjoy a free show with no hassle,
as long as they showed up early to escape the line.  With Red Stripe beer flowing freely,
thanks to Cornerstone Promotions, and impromptu freestyling on the mic, the energy of
the show only continued to gain momentum throughout the night, closing things out an
hour past it’s scheduled time to end. The first 100 guests walked away with goodie bags
provided for the L4M Music Showcase.

While highlights included an unexpected Cool Kids collab performance with Pac Div and
a diverse range of music, the show created a forum for emerging musicians to network
with industry professionals, such as sponsors L4M and Music Dealers, to gain advice
about launching their careers.

L4M was created by Josh Kaplan, an attorney at Stahl Cowen, who works with
musicians, producers, DJ’s, artists, filmmaker, writers, and designers to protect their
creative work product. For more information about L4M’s services, visit his blog at

http://lawyer4musicians.com.

Music Dealers is an agency that allow independent musicians to license their music and
get paid.  For more information about their services, go to http://musicdealers.com.

The L4M Music Showcase was sponsored by Stahl Cowen, Music Dealers, Vapors
Magazine, Karmaloop TV, WeSC, and Catharsis NYC.  The Showcase was not an official South By Southwest event.

As Promised, L4M will be doubling it up this year in Austin.  While have some surprises that won’t be released until closer to the show, you can count on the following:

Hip Hop Showcase at Aces Lounge on Friday, March 18 from 12-5(ish) featuring RockieFresh, Audiodax, Kidz in the Hall, Doomtree (the whole crew), Das Racist and The Cool Kids.  Come early as we have had a line the last two years in a row and with this lineup, the line should be longer!

Rock Showcase at Longbranch Inn on Saturday, March 19 from 12-6 featuring Big Science, California Wives, Blah Blah Blah, Empires, Elephant Stone, The Idle Hands and Scott Lucas (Local H) and the Married Men.  Longbranch is a bit more intimate, so same rules apply, come early!

Per usual we are showcasing a wide variety of talent from all over the map.  When brought together, it is definitely a party.  Stay Tuned for more info.
